Keith Nicholson of Ballroom Blitz in Bowral
began dancing in 1996 with the ballroom
specialists Jo Jangles and today teaches locals the
joys of this particular style of dance.
Keith's dancing career started as a result of
having to partner the daughter of one of his
father's friends who was learning to dance.
"I took a lot of flak in Year 10 taking up
ballroom dancing, but soon pointed out to my
friends that while they were out carousing on
their own, I had my arms wrapped around a
girl," Keith said.
Three years of student teaching at Jo Jangles

With students ranging from the ages of four to
eighty five Keith said that ballroom dancing was
a great confidence booster apart from the
obvious exercise benefits.
"It has been proved
ballroom dancing is a work
out for not only our physical
beings, but is also a great
test for brains, visual
capabilities, mental and
mathematical skills," he said.
Private lessons can be
arranged with Keith with no
partner is needed.
Group lessons are held on
Thursday evenings from
7pm-8pm and again
partners are arranged for
those who are flying solo.
Favourite dances remain
the waltz and tango, but
Keith teaches all styles from
tango, foxtrot, quickstep, samba, rumba, cha-cha
to Australian new vogue styles.

Keith said they went from "eeww boy germs"
to "that was such fun" and are at ease and
comfortable with each other by the time the day

With his busy schedule it is unlikely we will see
Keith on "Dancing With The Stars', but with so
many steps to teach and a continually growing
clientele, Keith is happy passing on the joy of
dance to all his students.
